My Name is Humberto Vargas-Vidal. I am 37 years old, and Currently live in the Miami-

Hialeah, Florida area. I am ordained as a Chaplain through the Churches of Christ, and

I hold dual memberships in both the Salvation Army and the Baptist Church. Theologically and Doctrinally, I consider myself a Moderate Evangelical Christian. I use

the words "Moderate" and "Evangelical" in a very deliberate way to distinguish myself from the more Fundamentalist and increasingly Radical and Extreemist Right-Wing

influences that are in control in most of  American Protestant Christianity Today.

      Please do not misunderstand me: I am very Conservative and Orthodox in my

interpretation of the Bible, and I hold to a very Evangelical and Bible-Believing faith and

doctrine. However, I also believe and uphold the Social Justice teachings and message

of God's Word. The Bible defends the poor, hungry, sick, oppressed, homeless,

children, working peoples, women, elderly, and those who suffer discrimination and

inequality . As Christians, we are to continue God's mission of creating a world that is

free of corruption, greed, materialism, discrimination, oppression, and lack of equal

opportunities for all.

As far as the paranormal is concerned, I firmly believe in the existence of life after death,

and the very real possibility that certain lost and tormented souls do in fact remain behind after physical death, somehow escaping both heaven and hell. I hold to the

doctrine of human free will choice (or Arminianism), the belief that God has blessed all

human beings with free will control over many important decisions of our lives, and that

free will choice definitely appears to continue well on into our spiritual existence after

physical death. The large amount of undeniable evidence of paranormal activity, most

notably the large amount of Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP) recordings, testify to

the reality of many human souls choosing to remain behind after death. As an

Evangelical Christian, I have no doubts that many of these lingering souls are unsaved

and unrepentant individuals who have chosen to continue living apart from, and in

disobedience to God, even in death.

However, I also believe that around 50% of all paranormal activity- especially cases that

involve actual physical and emotional harm being suffred by the living-are the direct

result of Demonic activity, or human souls that are being controlled by or willingly

serving Demonic entities. That is why all paranormal investigative teams should include

several Christian chaplains (regardless of denomination) as part of their staff and

involved in all investigations.
